Race penalty condemns Danny to 6th in Misano

It wasn’t the luckiest day for Danny Kent at the San Marino Grand Prix, as the Brit lost the race due to a penalty by the race direction.

Slightly changed weather conditions with some clouds above the Misano World Circuit didn’t affect Moto3 action on track during today’s round 13 of this year’s series. As soon as the lights went out a big fighting group built the front. Leopard Racing’s heroes Danny Kent and Efren Vazquez were amongst them and played their role.

Whilst Championship leader Danny Kent had the pace to stay with the hard fighting leaders but did some mistakes to exceed the track’s limit some times, which was penalized by the race directions and he had to drop back one position.

But unfortunately for the 22 year old Briton he had to get passed by the rider behind him, who already had a three seconds gap – meaning he had no chance of recovering a better finishing position.

Moto3™ continues in two weeks’ time at the MotorLand Aragon circuit in Spain.

#52 Danny KENT – 6th, World Championship position 1st (234 points):
“Of course this was not the race that we were hoping for because we definitely had the pace to win today. But I had to drop back one position and the rider behind me had already a gap by more than three seconds, so we lost the race due to that. Till that point I was following and watching the hard battles in front of me, but at the same time I was confident to catch them all as long as the race went. But in the end it is a really bad outcome of the weekend and of course not the result we were looking for.”
