Danny completes successful two day test at Valencia
The Leopard Racing team today completed an intense two-day test at the Ricardo Tormo circuit at Cheste with riders Danny Kent and teammate Miguel Oliveira.
The two riders worked hard to learn the new Moto2 machines that they will compete on in 2016. It was the first time that the new team had been on track with their rivals in the championship this year and was a key marker to understand their progress so far.
The pit boxes were a hive of activity as technicians and riders exchanged information to make the necessary progress forward. Putting Moto3 class rivalry behind them, Danny and Miguel worked together to bring key feedback to the team and shared information openly.
Despite the cold and sometimes wet weather in Valencia, the Leopard Racing riders banked many laps over the two days, with a total of 73 laps for Danny and 113 for Miguel.
Danny suffered a crash at Turn 7, fortunately without any serious injury, but has nonetheless made great steps forward over the two days on his return to the Moto2 class.
#52 Danny Kent:
“It was another good two days of testing for me and the team. Myself and my crew chief have a plan and we will stick to that plan as we did in 2015 pre-season and we’ve learned a lot together. Unfortunately, I had a small crash on the second day at Turn 7 where I tucked the front at 200km/h. I’ve hurt my arm a little but thankfully nothing more. Overall it was a really good two days, it’ great to be back with the team, we know we have a lot to learn still but it was a solid start.”
