Danny concludes Qatar test in positive mood and ready to race
The Leopard Racing team’s effort during the three-day official IRTA test have conclude with positive results for Moto2 rider Danny Kent.
Today saw the end of testing for riders in the Moto2 World Championship, the three day event offering a brief preview of what the inaugural race of 2016 may hold in one week’s time at the same track. This will see Leopard Racing compete in the Moto2 class for the first time, after a month and a half of multiple tests, both riders and technicians have learned a lot about the Kalex and are ready to go.
The Moto3 World Champion, Danny Kent, missed the first session of the day as he wished to save his energy for the first race and waited to head out in the second session when temperatures were cooler. The Brit focused on suspension and finished the session in seventh. Kent’s best time of the test, a 2’00.260, saw him end 11th on combined times.
#52 Danny KENT – 11th (2:00.260):
“For me it has been a very successful three days of testing. Me, my team and my crew chief we’ve learned a lot and I feel we’ve made another step and ever closer again. Still there are a few bits I need to work on personally with my riding style, which, you know, I know I need to change my riding style to go faster but step-by-step we’re getting closer to the front. We’re only half a second off the top five and lap times at the moment are really quick so I think me and the team are doing a really good job. I’m happy with how we’re all working and now we have a couple of days break, time to sit down and relax a little while analysing our data before coming back for the first race of 2016. Start again on Friday and try to make that next step while working on myself.”
