Danny really happy with opening sessions in Argentina
It could hardly have been a better start to the Argentina GP for Danny Kent and the Leopard Racing team in Moto2. After their great performance in Qatar two weeks ago, Danny and teammate Miguel Oliveira again produced strong results on the first today of practice at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, which hosts the second round of 2016.
With humidity at 65% and asphalt temperatures at around 51°C, the two protagonists of Leopard’s new adventure did not stop their charge, Danny ending the morning session in a stunning second.
The outgoing Moto3 World Champion began the Qatar GP in sixth, where he also finished. A sign perhaps? In the afternoon he mounted soft tyres, ending the day in eighth with a time of 1’45.010.
#52 Danny KENT – 8th (1’45.010):
“I’m really happy with the first day here in Argentina, I feel me and the team have made a very good step forward from Qatar and our results are for sure showing that. Finishing second in FP1 and eighth in FP2, we’re only 0.1s off third place which is really good. This is the first time I’ve been here on a Moto2 and the track conditions isn’t great but it’s the same for everyone as we all have the same tyres and track conditions. Thanks to the team!”
