Seventh row start for Danny in Catalunya

 In News

A bittersweet Saturday for the Leopard Racing team at the Gran Premi de Catalunya, the seventh round of the 2016 World Championship. Danny Kent and teammate Miguel Oliveira have faced many difficulties, especially in the decisive official qualifying session that decided the grid for Sunday.

After the excellent start this morning, when he had closed the FP3 in eighth place overall, Danny had to deal with a crash at Turn 5, minutes after the start of qualifying. A shame for the British rider, who had shown a vast improvement over yesterday thanks to the right choices in terms of suspension and setup.

The 21 year old from Chippenham managed to recover in the final minutes, closing the day with a 1’50.902 lap. Tomorrow, the outgoing World Champion Moto3 champion will have to give 100% for the whole race and attack.

Tomorrow at 09:10 Local Time (GMT +2) the riders will be back on track for 20 minutes of Warm Up before the lights go out at 12:20 Local Time for the seventh race of the 2016 Moto2 World Championship.

#52 Danny KENT – 21st (1’50.902):
“Of course I’m very disappointed we’re again down in 21st. I had a good feeling with the bike in the morning and we made a change on the front for Qualifying. It was only a small change but the feeling on the bike was completely different and I had a crash. We lost a lot of time with repairs and I had to go out and regain more confidence. I didn’t have enough laps and we’ve made the race hard for us.”
