Rain makes for a difficult start to Danny Kent’s home Grand Prix weekend

The British GP weekend started with some difficulties for the Leopard Racing Team duo in the intermediate Moto2 class. Round 12 is here and Danny Kent and teammate Miguel Oliveira were able to put their wheels to the tarmac once more and sample the superb Silverstone circuit.

Fired up after his great result of two weeks ago in Brno, Danny Kent appeared before his fans with great enthusiasm, but was unable give his best in FP1 in the morning. The home hero was, however, able to react in the afternoon session, by setting a quick lap and ending 17th on the combined times.

Saturday will open with the third and final free practice session before formal qualifications to decide the starting grid for the Moto2 class of the British Grand Prix 2016.

#52 Danny KENT – 17th (2’10.445):
“Difficult start to my home grand prix, it’s not going as well as we’d hoped. The weather hasn’t helped as in both practices we’ve only been able to do around eight laps before the rain. It’s not very good for us as at the moment we’re struggling with setup of the bike. We need as much track time as possible to improve the feeling of the bike, fingers crossed it’s better tomorrow.”
