Tough Qualifying at Misano for Danny Kent
Saturday was a busy day in the Leopard Racing Moto2 team garage. Danny Kent improved times and performance, also improving his feeling with the Kalex on 4.2 km of the Misano World Circuit, the theatre for the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini 2016.
It was something of a comforting result for Danny Kent: the Brit, who in 2015 registered the fastest lap, showed he had taken the right path with his setting from early in the morning. He finished Qualifying with a 1’38.308 lap time, earning him 15th on the grid.
Tomorrow at 09:10 Local Time (GMT +2), the riders will be back on track for 20 minutes of warm-up before the lights go out at 12:20 Local Time for the thirteenth race of the 2016 Moto2 World Championship.
#52 Danny KENT – 15th (1’38.308):
“I think we can be satisfied with Qualifying, our best session all weekend. Yesterday we had some big problems with spinning and having no rear grip and the team worked well today. Step by step they’ve made some good changes and it has really shown in my performance, now I have more confidence. The lap times are coming easier. To close the gap to the front guys is good, still we have a few things to try in Warm Up to see how we can still improve a little bit.”
