Danny Kent endures difficult Qualifying session at Phillip Island

 In News

With FP2 for the Moto2 class cancelled yesterday due to bad weather, the two riders of Leopard Racing team, Danny Kent and Alessandro Nocco, were forced to rapidly get up to speed at the Phillip Island Circuit on Saturday, an extended FP3 helping them make up for lost time.

For the British rider, good conditions yesterday morning (second fastest in FP1) had unfortunately departed today, Kent ending 25th overall in practice. In qualifying this afternoon the 22 year old from Chippenham managed to lower his lap time to a 1’35.789, this final time earning him a spot on the eighth row on the grid.

Tomorrow at 11:10 Local Time (GMT +11) the riders will be back on track for 20 minutes of warm-up before the lights go out at 14:20 for the sixteenth race of the 2016 Moto2 World Championship.

#52 Danny KENT – 22nd (1’35.789):
“It was a very difficult qualifying for us. Again, down in P22 is not where we want to be. I had no confidence at all, I wasn’t enjoying riding at all. In a lot of the fast corners I felt like I was fighting against the bike. I was on the very edge of closing the front. Again I’m disappointed with the result but tomorrow is a different day so we need to keep our head up and give it our best go.”
