Danny Kent finishes outside the points in Malaysia

At 13:20 local time the lights went off on the intermediate class Moto2, signalling the beginning of the race on a wet track due to a downpour that hit just after the end of Moto3. Morbidelli flew away early but was chased by Zarco and Folger; while Pons and Lowes fell on the second lap.

It was a great start for Danny Kent who was incredible off the line and by the fourth lap he was in the points, fighting with three rivals.

As the race progressed Danny Kent struggled with the same issues as in Qualifying as the track began to dry and ended 18th, out of the points.

The next event is scheduled in Valencia at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste during the weekend of 11 to 13 November, for the last round of the season in 2016.

#52 Danny KENT – 18th:
“Again, outside the points and not where we want to be. I qualified in 24th and I had a great start, I was in a good group but as soon as the track dried it was just like Qualifying. I had the same problems as in Qualifying where I just had no drive at all. Not happy to be outside the points but we still keep going.”
