The German Kiefer Racing Moto2 outfit has unveiled the new rider line-up and 2017 livery as well their new highly anticipated partners for the season ahead at the team’s official launch in German’s Eifel.

Winter weather with the world famous Nürburgring under a deep snow cover as scenery didn’t suggest for a motorsport event on Saturday but the business lounge at the circuit’s Boulevard as location for the presentation, there was such as the smell of fuel in the air.

The occasion was Kiefer Racing’s team launch, presenting Danny Kent and 2017 teammate Dominique Aegerter as rider pairing for this year’s campaign in Moto2™ World Championship, racing aboard the all-new Suter MMX2 machine designed by the swiss manufacturer Suter Industries. Apart from that, the presentation of the new main sponsor was highly awaited which was a well-kept secret until recently.

AirGrinder is a company with head offices in Sweden and Switzerland. In the course of this year, the specialist in recycling will launch a totally new system on the market. However, AirGrinder would like to position itself as a brand already. The recycling system will be revolutionary because it’s able to recycle any kind of waste. The waste will be powdered and dried with the latter stage is very difficult to accomplish. It is thought to be used in many different industries, even if it’s just paper or complicated household waste.

23-year-old Brit Danny Kent is a long-time rider in Kiefer Racing meanwhile, winning the Moto3™ World title in 2015 with the German structure whereas teammate Aegerter is a hungry newcomer to team, seeking for success at his comeback aboard the Suter machine.

After a busy winter with lots of home work to be done, Kiefer Racing is set to get underway their pre-season testing’s with a first two-day outing at the Valencia circuit in just one week, followed by two further occasions in southern Spain at the Circuito de Jerez (February 22/23 and 27/28).

#52 Danny KENT:
“After the long winter break I’m really happy that things will start seriously with our completely new project. Of course, today’s team launch is part of it but foremost I already look forward to start our work on track next week in Valencia. Kiefer Racing will show up in new colours this year and frankly, I like this two-colour design, I’m sure that it will be a unique spot of colour on the grid. The 2017 season will be a new challenge for me though I’m in the team for some years meanwhile. Since we started our collaboration back at the end of 2014, I’ve a great relationship with Stefan and Jochen (Kiefer). And now we made the switch to Suter bikes which is an additional motivation for me. So, we’ll start with a new package even if we had already a two-day test last November with it. This first roll-out with the Suter prototype went really well, bringing promising findings. I had a good feeling with the bike from the beginning and I’m sure that the engineers in Suter did a great job during the winter month to bring a competitive package this year. I’m also proud to have an experienced team mate such as Domi (Aegerter) is. He can count on a lot of experience with this machine and together we’ll develop this bike quickly. However, I won’t speak about expectations and targets ahead of the season but foremost I’m very keen to work hard with my new crew during pre-season testing’s in order to prepare in the possible way for this season. Then we’ll see what happen.”

Stefan KIEFER (Team manager):
“We’re glad, that we’re able to finalize all organization things for this new project in good time before the season gets underway. Today’s team launch at the Nürburgring is the peak of a long and hard time full packed with preparations. Over the course of the winter month many things have changed in our team. Apart from our switch to Suter, we would like to introduce our new main sponsor AirGrinder now too. AirGrinder is a company with head offices in Sweden and Switzerland, specialist in recycling. We would like to express our thanks and look forward to a long and successful relationship. We think, thanks to our partners and in combination with the Suter machine and with our rider line-up with Danny and Domi, Kiefer Racing is to show up with a strong package. We’re ready to tackle this new challenge ahead of us and succeed it.”
