Danny looking for day two improvements in Argentina

Friday’s FP1 and FP2 sessions for the Grand Prix of Argentina took place under good and stable weather conditions. However, it took some time for improved track conditions after some rainy days in the region recently.

The first session didn’t go well for Danny Kent. The English rider managed hardly to ride his bike as he would have wished and therefore he lost his confidence. Radical changes during the break till the second free practice got started brought the urgently needed remedy. The 23-year-old Kent concluded Friday in Termas de Río Hondo with the 14th fastest lap time.

#52 Danny KENT, FP1: P21 – 1´46.221 (13/15) / FP2: P14 – 1´44.827 (16/17):
“Our start into the weekend was less enjoyable. After FP1 I was a little bit worried because the bike was very difficult to ride – it was very sensitive when I hit the curbs. After this I was a bit nervous. But the team did a great job because they completely changed the bike for the second session in the afternoon. It has brought a big difference and the situation got much better for me. Nevertheless, P14 is not where we want to be. But at this point, it is to admit that the lap times are very close. Anyway, there are a lot of areas to improve for tomorrow, particularly it must come from my side. Beyond that, a lot of people used two sets of the No. 3 tyre today which is the option to make the lap time here. In contrast, we were using only one. I’m confident now as I wasn’t that after FP1 but we made a good change for FP2 which worked out perfectly.”
